These were the first words that came out of babyboy's mouth this morning.Definitely caught my attention.
I was abit confused to be truthful because the last I checked I tucked him in bed last night, kissed him a thousand times, said our prayers and I left him,in bed, under his covers.I'm sure I locked the door.As to whether he may have crept out or a mwizi crept in..I had to find out.
"Uliona mwizi wapi love?"
"Huko nikilala alafu akatoroka mbio after akulwe na mosquito!"
I'm sure at this point you've had to re-read that.I was also confused for a second after he finished that statement.
"Baby ati uliona mwizi wapi?"
|"Huko nikilala."
Ladies and gentlemen I think Jeff just narrated his first dream this morning.
I instantly got into that mode where I try to figure out what was going on in his mind.I concluded he must have watched something on TV that triggered dreams about thieves. As for the mosquitoes, who knows!
So we laughed at his dream and marched downstairs for breakfast.
I am constantly laughing when I am around this young one.At least when I am not scolding or pinching him,we do laugh.
There has been a constant conversation in our household of late.
"Kuja umalize uji love."
"Me si love me ni Jeff!" And he goes to pout.
He does not go to defy the orders. He comes and finishes his uji.Anything that ends with love is however negated.
Surely love!
While I am constantly laughing about the things this boy says, there is one other person that gets me laughing That I have a friend in him is one of he most refreshing things in my life.
He came to visit babyboy and I recently. We wanted to warm some food in the microwave to eat but power had gone off.So I stood there for a while wondering what to do and he said to me..."Pepeta hiyo microwave mpaka ipate joto" Surely some people!
One of those funnies that keep you laughing by yourself everytime they come into remembrance.
Motherhood..I have to confess...
I have no idea what it means to be a mother.
Can one really be prepared for this overwhelming position.Motherhood is a full time job.Today I share with you the difficulties of this noble position.
I think once you have children, you are never really free again.Your life is characterized with worries so profound, anxiety here and there, you question alot of the moves you make, you wonder, you think, you live for two.Everyday from the time that embryo hits your womb.
There's a balance that you have to strike.Knowing how to live your own personal life and be involved in that of your child. You say goodbye to a whole loada things that you freely did before you received this title.
Motherhood..a world of oxymorons..painful joy..from the day you bring that life to this world..happy tears.
You worry whether they will turn out right. You worry about their safety when they are far from you.You wonder whether they have been fed well.
Sometimes when they get sick you wonder whether you could have done anything to prevent it.It's a vicious cycle of emotions this position.A roller coaster.
I have no idea what it means to be a mother.
My friend Ndanu however posted something I found really deep on her blog a while back that really stuck in my heart Third Parent Concept. The destiny of every person on this earth is predetermined.Parents are our second gods but there is One supreme Father to all of us who beautifully takes charge when our parents are beyond reach. When we are in danger that even we cannot see.He is the third parent that is unseen yet seen as we walk through life.
I however still have no ideas what it means to be a mother!
But I will journey on and continue to do what I have been doing for the past three years and possibly figure out what it really means to be a mother.
nice i love this whole idea you should read mine hahha though mine is more on current affairs
